Attended Startup Asia 2013 in April last year and loved it? Or you missed out on it altogether and spent the rest of the year regretting? Fret not, Startup Asia 2014 is back and bigger than ever.
TechinAsia.com, Asia’s largest English-language technology and startup blog, is gearing up to bring you yet another round of its signature conference series with Startup Asia Singapore 2014, happening May 7 – 8 right in the heart of Biopolis, Singapore’s deep tech research centre. Tech in Asia is privileged to have Singapore Minister of State Teo Ser Luck as the Guest of Honour. MOS Teo has been extremely involved in championing entrepreneurship in Singapore and is the perfect person to help kick off Day One of the conference.
The conference will feature a Startup Arena pitching competition, where startups across Asia will come together to pitch for US$10,000 in cash, a hackathon (don’t worry if you are not too sure what a hackathon is), where you put your hacking skills to the test by pitting against other developers in Asia, and a Startup and Investor speed dating session to really enable the process of startups getting to meet and pitch their ideas to investors. And that’s not all, Startup Asia 2014 will also bring you two new highlights: Meet the Blogger and Market Expansion Tracks.
A little more about the pitching contest, Startup Arena: both seed and growth-stage startups will be competing against each other on Day One of the conference. About 10 to 15 startups will eventually take to the stage to compete for USD 10,000 in cash. If you own a startup or are an aspiring entrepreneur, submit your startup idea here! They are accepting submissions for Startup Arena till March 31, 2014.
A list of speakers will also be sharing their experiences and key insights on startup trends and how the future may look – definitely something you will not want to miss out on:
– Dave Morin, Co-founder and CEO of Path
– Min-Liang, Founder and CEO of Razer
– Dario Meli, Co-founder of Hootsuite and Quiet.ly
– Razmig Hovaghimian, Co-founder and CEO of ViKi
